5. Land Use Selection Factors.

The land use in Seneca County is predominantly agricultural. There are urban areas in the north of the county, the towns of Geneva, Waterloo and Seneca Falls. The Seneca Army base occupys a substantial proportion of the county and there is a state park on the east shore of lake Seneca. Another limitation for development is the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge which occupies a large area of the north eastern corner of the county. It should be noted that the data was collated in the 1970’s and there may have been land use changes since then.
